Well I survived my 2nd trimester at Cleveland Chiropractic College ! Only 8 more until I am in practice with Dr. Peterson. This trimester was extremely challenging especially since Biochemistry 2 (arguably the hardest class in the entire program) was part of the curriculum. At the close of the trimester, group of 15 Cleveland students traveled to Chicago for the Active Release Techniques Spine Course. This soft tissue system is what made me want to be a Chiropractor. I am now certified in Upper Extremity and Spine. I will be starting the Lower Extremity course this month and will hopefully be certified in that course in September. After that I will take a "Long-tract nerve entrapment" course (which deals with carpal tunnel and sciatic nerve-type injuries.) I will finish my Active Release Technique certifications with the Biomechanics course which ties all of the different techniques together. I will get to treat athletes at an IRONMAN triathlon next year as a provider for the sole soft tissue treatment used at this contest; ART. My dad ran his first half marathon at the Oklahoma City Marathon this month so I was given the opporotunity to be the official camera man of Steve Barnes. I took some photos from the marathon as well as the Memorial. (All photos were handshot at night - NO TRIPOD) Ali is finishing up her first year as a teacher and has elected to work one session of summer school. We're really enjoying our time here in Overland Park and have met some wonderful people through our careers as well as church. Ali has started a blog in which she discusses and debates a variety of issues. It's very interesting and if you get a chance you should CHECK IT OUT. We hope you all are doing well. I will be starting trimester three on May 13th and will be going down to Texas the same week to once again hunt the amazing Axis Deer and Black Buck. Hopefully I will bring home another hundred pounds of meat this year. This has been the winter/spring of Guitar Hero 3. I finally gave in and bought Guitar Hero 3 for my PC and MAC, I have had way too much fun with it and have actually made a few videos of our concerts. My wife works with another teacher named Todd and he and his wife have participated in our two Guitar Hero videos. Make sure you watch them; you're bound to get a laugh out of them. There are new photos posted in the photo sections. Have a great spring!

A YEAR FOR THE AGES!

It has been an amazing year! I haven't posted since August and so much has happened since then. To keep this blog short I'll condense as much as possible. I started my first trimester at Cleveland Chiropractic College (CCC) in Kansas City and look forwared to completing that education in 2011. I thankfully survived biochemistry and only have one more unit of chemistry to complete during my lifetime. I had my first experience working with cadavers and I have to say that it was a little weird at first but I warme up to it pretty quick and was doing a laminectomy by my 3rd week in lab. I survived my first trimester without any rapid hair loss but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I ammassed a binder with at least 8 inches of notes (see picture below.) At this rate, there will be a shortage of trees in Kansas by 2009. My wife Ali started her first teaching job in the Lee's Summit school district. We moved to Overland Park, KS this summer for Chiropractic School and are looking forward to the next few years here. We were able to come to Stillwater for the annual Dodson's Golf Tourney this fall where I contributed at least 3 shots in our "best ball" group. Ali let me get my Christmas present early this year. I have wanted a digital SLR since 2002 and Ali was nice enough to let me get a Canon 40D with a few lenses including the 70-200mm 2.8 IS USM (those cool white lenses on the sidelines of football games.) I have taken a few pictures so far this fall and they are posted at the bottom of this page. There were many great moments this past fall but it would take forever to discuss them. I would like to mention that we had our annual new years eve party at the Ehrlich's and we started the new year with a massive NERF war. I have never seen so many darts flying in one place at a time. It was an incredible time and next year we're going to take it to another level. I was not fortunate enough to harvest a whitetail deer this season but I had a blast with my first experience hunting waterfowl. Since this is the first post of the new year, I will go ahead and list my top 10 highlights of 2007. May the Lord bless you all this new year! "Soli Deo Gloria!" -Barnezy-
