Today marks the end of another incredible year. This was absolutely, without a doubt, the most blessed year of my life. I have not been able to keep up with my website very much lately because of the tremendous amount of events that have taken place. These are the top 10 reasons I had an incredible year!

10: Barnezy got a La -z- Boy

9: Barnezy Got Smart and Finally Bought a MAC

8: Barnezy's Videography Finally Went HI-DEF

7: Barnezy.com's Homepage Reached 10,000 Hits

6: Barnezy worked his 20th FCA Camp

5: Barnezy Got a Job Working for Peterson Chiropractic

4: Barnezy Graduated from The University of Tulsa

3: Barnezy was Accepted into Cleveland Chiropractic College

2: Barnezy Got Engaged!

1: I GOT MARRIED! (Which means I get to make love to my wife all the time!)

What an incredible year! The Lord has truly blessed our lives and I couldn't be more thankful for His providence. I look forward with great anticipation to the life that we have ahead of us. In whatever we do together, it is my wish that our relationship will glorify God, for it is through Him that we will be made like Christ.

Well its Monday morning and Ali and I are going to look at apartments. It's only 4 months until we get married so I figured we better have a place to live by that day. It was a loooong weekend full of interesting challenges. To start off, I went to "B.Jolie Spa" on the Southwest corner of 81st and Harvard in Tulsa for my first ever massage. One of my patients at Dr. Peterson's office just opened this spa a few months ago and invited me to come in for a one hour massage. Well, I just couldn't pass that one up. I went to B. Jolie, which is a beautiful spa by the way, where I met Jessica. Jessica is a massage therapist who is made of 100% raw steel. She worked me over for an hour and it was quite possibly the most relaxing, rejuvinating experience of my young life. I absolutely felt incredible this entire weekend. I'm planning to get at least one massage a month from Jessica until I am married. I would absolutely go by and see Jessica and B. Jolie. At this time they do not have a website, but they are in the process of having that done. The rest of Saturday was pretty laid back, Ali came to Tulsa to hang out and we got a few things done. On Sunday, we painted the remainder of my parents' new deck and spent just a few minutes in the pool. We had some friends over and my mom fixed her "World Famous Tacos." The weekend ended with some intense games of "Washer Board" where Ali and I completely dominated Lacey Leifeste and Tyrel Lacey. Overall, an incredible weekend!

Side Note: Ali and I are getting married on December 16th at 2:15 at the Masonic Temple in Guthrie. There's not a single Mason in our bloodline, so why did we pick the temple? Check out their website and you'll see that the Masonic Temple is the most beautiful building in Oklahoma.

Today I shot my very first axis deer. I traveled to Sanora, Texas for this once in a lifetime hunt. A few weeks ago, I didn't even know what an Axis Deer was. Today, I shot a nine point non-typical Axis deer buck. There were six of us on this hunt. As of now, 5 of the 6 have got a buck. I was the first as I usually am. Instead of the "drive by" hunting approach, I opted for the "15 foot tripod" approach. My guide Mike dropped me off around 6:30am and by 6:40 there were over 30 whitetail deer around my tripod. Then through the rough he walked. He was accompanied by 4 Axis does and he was a beauty. I thought I should get some video footage of him, but my camera was in my bag and I couldn't chance the zipper being too loud. Instead, I looked at him for a minute through my scope and when the does cleared just enough... I squeezed the trigger and the Weatherby 300 Magnum spoke, and it spoke LOUDLY! The buck fell in his steps (just as every other animal that has felt the wrath of my 300 Weatherby) and was dead within a minute. We loaded him up and I named him Jed. I have an antelope named Fred, a whitetail named Ted and now and axis named Jed. I hope to get a mule deer named Ed and a whitetail with my bow whom I will name Red. All and all it was an incredible day. Jared Glover shot his 5 minutes after I shot mine. Next would be Jesse Glover, followed by my dad and finally Jim Glover. At this moment in time, Larry Yocum is the only hunter yet to bag a deer. Tommorow morning will be his last chance. I will definately never forget my trip to Sanora, Texas. Jed, hanging on the wall of Ali and I's future home will help to ensure it.

June 29, 2006

Today was one of the greatest days of my life! Today on June 29th 2006 , I proposed to Alisha Lee Griffin at OU FCA Jr. high camp. It was an incredible event that I will never forget. For months, my careful planning went into action and today was the day that the engagement took place. Click here to see the video It has been an awesome week here at camp. Last week at FCA's Extreme Camp I faced a few minor trials. Three kidney stones forced me to return home to Tulsa for care, but by the grace of God I was able to come back to camp and finish the week with my kids. So this week has been slightly better than last week. I don't know what to say about being engaged, I'm finally off the market. I have never been so excited about anything in my 23 years on this earth. I am almost positive that Ali and I will be married by Christmas, so we'll probably get started soon on setting a date. I hope you all take time to watch the video and look at the pictures. It was an awesome day! Glory be to God for the blessings He has bestowed on us. -Barnezy-

Yesterday I received my SKB double parallel limb bow case from the Bass Pro Shop. This thing was on backorder from both Oklahoma Bass Pro Shops, so I had to place an internet order to get this thing. This case is incredible; it looks like something that would transport a nuclear warhead. It has a ton of space as well as those cool security locks that airport security can open instead of breaking into your case. I'm pretty excited about the case and I can't wait to go shoot something with my Diamond Liberty hunting bow my parents got me for graduation. Speaking of graduation...

Tomorrow I graduate from the University of Tulsa ! Its about time. Your typical undergraduate graduates with 125 hours, but of course I couldn't do it like that. I will finish TU with 182 hours of college credit. Why on earth you ask would I take 57 additional hours? To begin with, I lost 25 hours when I transferred to TU from NEO. I also took an independent study course at Brigham Young. To top it off I took an additional 25 hours of Chiropractic prerequisites courses. Well tomorrow marks the end of another phase in my life. I still have a summer course to take this year, but as far as I'm concerned I am finished at the University of Tulsa . I am not matriculating to Cleveland Chiropractic College until September of 2007, so I'm going to use this next school year to take some classes that will help prepare me for my four year tenure at CCC. President Bush is speaking at OSU's graduation tomorrow. We'll probably have Mayor Taylor or something for our speaker. Asher Griffin, my girlfriend's brother, is interning at the White House this summer and apparently is in charge of all "Marine 1" (helicopter) landings. He has helped coordinate the landing that will take place tomorrow at OSU. I'm not sure if he'll get to hang out with G-DUB (Bush) or not, but just being involved with an undertaking such as this one is quite an honor. Don't tell him that though, he knows how special he is. He'll probably end up like Jack Ryan in the Tom Clancy books/movies. He'll start out as a consultant to the president and then the next thing you know he'll be dodging bullets from drug lords in Columbia . Well I'm working at Dr. Peterson's office today until 6:00 . I'll probably spend my Friday night moving stuff from school back to the house. Talk about exciting! The highlight of my weekend will most definitely be hanging out with Ali and going to Norman on Sunday for our annual FCA extreme camp meeting! I hope you guys have an incredible week and good luck to those of you who are graduating! -Barnezy-

April 28, 2006

Since I didn't have class today because of finals, I went by my dad's dealership today to get a new set of tires. While my truck was getting worked on, the service department was having a cookout. Hugh Martin makes a wicked burger so I had to indulge myself with one of them. Here's where my day got pretty interesting. I left the dealership to head to Peterson's Clinic of Chiropractic where I work. I was getting off the Broken Arrow Expressway at Sheridan when I saw something that shocked me. In front of me was a late model gold Honda Accord. The car itself is not what shocked me, but it was what took place in the car that I'm about to elaborate upon. As I sat at the light waiting to turn south on Sheridan I noticed the man driving the car in front of me was acting frantic. As we turned on to Sheridan I noticed that he punched the person in the front seat. At first I thought he was just messing around, but after 3 or 4 more punches and a few swerves it became apparent that this guy was not messing around. I thought about ramming the car from behind so I could get him to stop, but there was a small child in a baby seat in the back of the car. My first thought was to wait till we stopped at a stop light and then get out of my car and approach this man. However, my conscience kicked in and the thought of some crazy quack shooting me in the chest didn't sound so appealing. I then reached for my phone and I planned to call 911 to report this guy but just up ahead I noticed a wreck in the center turn lane about 100 yards from the intersection at 51st and Sheridan. The traffic was bottlenecking to the right lane so the Honda Accord switched lanes. I pulled up beside the car and saw a woman leaned as far away from this man as she could. Her face was red and I could see tears in her eyes. At this point I made a decision, I'm not sure it was the best decision, but at that moment, it was the only decision I could think of. As traffic slowed down adjacent to the wreck I swung my truck over in front of the Honda Accord. Not only was I blocking him, but I also left my tail end in the left lane so that no one could pass. I walked back to the car with my heart beating out of my chest. I made eye contact with this man moments before I reached for his door handle. He had to be thinking in his mind, "What on earth is this guy in scrubs going to do to me." He probably thought I was a doctor or something. I grabbed the door handle and to my surprise it opened, I had my left hand ready to unbuckle the guy's seatbelt but to my surprise he wasn't wearing one. I grabbed the guy's shirt and I threw him out of the car with the intention of sending him to the hospital in the ambulance that was so conveniently parked 20 yards away. In other words, I was going to initiate a citizen's arrest Barnezy style! Before I could really do anything two Tulsa County Police officers were there to keep me from killing this guy. One officer helped up the man who apparently didn't speak English. The man was an Asian, about 5'6 and didn't seem too happy about someone returning the favor. The other officer approached me and I immediately lifted my hands up in the air (probably an automatic movement in response to the many cop movies I've seen when the guy gets blown away because he won't show them his hands) and began trying to explain my actions. I told him to look at the woman in the car who was still sitting in her seat despite the activity 5 yards outside of her car. The police officer looked in the car and asked the woman if she was ok. I don't know if she spoke English either, but I told the officer that I didn't know what else to do. I showed him my ID and gave him my business card. I told him that I was running late to work and that he could write down my license plate number and they could bring me in for questioning later if they needed to. To make a long story short, I got out of there and was only 3 minutes late to work. I worked from 12 to 6 and called it a night. There's never a dull day in the life of Barnezy. Hope you guys enjoyed that story, stay tuned for a new blog next week. -Barnezy-
